Blue Tansy Essential Oil

This beautiful little flower is in the chamomile family and looks a lot like Helichrysum but has it’s own amazing uses that are quite different from helichrysum.

Due to its chamazulene content, Blue Tansy Essential Oil is very dark blue in color. Aromatically, Blue Tansy Essential Oil possesses a complex, sweet, slightly floral aroma with camphorous and herbaceous undertones. I find the aroma pleasant, calming and refreshing.

It’s often known as Moroccan Chamomile and has a very complex, sweet, slightly floral aroma with camphoraceous, herbaceous undertones. I find it’s aroma is super pleasant, calming and even refreshing.

It pairs beautifully with almost any oil so it makes it wonderful to add to custom blends.

Blue Tansy is very dark blue because of it’s chamazulene content. “Cham” refers to chamomile, in which chamazulene was first discovered, and “azulene” is in reference to the indigo blue compound from which chamazulene is derived. Chamazulene is a sesquiterpene found in Blue Tansy essential oil, as well as Chamomile and Yarrow essential oils. This chamazulene is a powerful scavenger of free radicals in the body, making it a powerful antioxidant. Physical Uses:

This beautiful blue oil is most known for it’s calming, slightly numbing and and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s also very antibacterial and antifungal and makes a great antihistamine when seasonal threats are high! Perfect to use for wounds, as a diuretic and for supporting the kidneys.

Blue Tansy is also very soothing and healing to the skin, reducing inflammation and redness.

Emotional Uses:

Fear: I mentioned that Blue Tansy supports the kidneys and in Chinese Medicine, the kidney is where Fear is associated.

This can often show up in a resistance toward taking action in one’s life.

Often underlying or subconscious fear, can create emotional and physical stagnation which comes with a tendency to avoid or procrastinate in life…and quieten the messages of their own inner voice that might be prompting them to make necessary changes.

When we ignore or repress these messages…it leaves us feeling lethargic, drained, apathetic sluggish and even exhausted.

Often, in this space, we withdraw, retreat, and even engage in self sabotaging behaviors.

Blue Tansy invites us reclaim the life we dream of and take the initiative to begin manifesting our passion with action.

This begins NOT WITH WILL… but with a more inward, soulful mobility of acceptance, desire to overcome and to desire change and sustain the inspiration to create that change.

If you are ready to lean into life again, let go of fear, and find your passion and feel motivated to live your purpose and potential, then reach for Blue Tansy.

Best Uses:

Inhale Deeply, and often! or Diffuse

Apply topically with a little Fractionated Coconut Oil behind the ears, on wrists, our solar plexus (your upper stomach area) or on bottoms of feet.
