DIY Cellulite Coffee Scrub

If you’re like me, you may have wished there was a magical way to firm your skin up a bit. It’s said that 80% of women have cellulite. Having it though doesn’t make that fact easier to swallow if your in that 80%.

Although I am at a healthy weight, I still feel self conscious wearing shorts or mini-skirts, and I believe it is because of the skin on my legs. Losing 100 pounds is no joke! Besides feeling like I have skin that could use some tightening, I also still struggle with body image so anything that can help me overcome that, I am game!

I will say that after using this coffee sugar scrub a few times a week, I can really see a reduction in the appearance of cellulite. Or maybe I just love the way my skin feels.

Fact is though this is not going to remove cellulite. Sadly it can’t do that, but the coffee in this scrub helps increase circulation and tones your skin thus reducing the appearance of cellulite.

Let’s look at all the ingredients in this scrub. There are only THREE!

Coffee

As I already talked about coffee can improve your circulation which helps reduce the appearance of cellulite. It can also help collagen production which in turn will help your skin retain elasticity. Coffee is full of antioxidants which well help you in the anti-aging department. The coffee grounds also make an amazing exfoliant to help scrub away those dead skin cells.

Coconut Oil

You could use any oil in this scrub but I love using coconut oil for a few reasons. Coconut oil is an amazing moisturizer which will leave your skin feeling oh so smooth! It’s also helpful for aging as it’s packed with antioxidants. I actually use fractionated coconut oil—this just means the solid have been removed.

Essential Oils

I love to add a blend of essential oils called Slim and Sassy. This blend contains Grapefruit, Lemon, Peppermint, Ginger, and Cinnamon. I love this blend of essential oils because of their benefits to the skin and reducing the appearance of imperfections, like cellulite. It’s a great detox oil too so it is giving my body support to actually rid the extra fluid that is causing the unsightly dimples.

To make this scrub I take a days worth of coffee grounds (about 1/2 cup) and add about 1/2 cup fractionated coconut oil, stir together and then add approximately 10-15 drops of grapefruit oil. Mix together and apply to skin and rub vigorously on trouble areas 2-3 minutes at least 3 times a week. It’s messy so I recommend the shower rather than a tub.

Store in a glass container.

Voila! Summer legs here I come!
