Benefits of the Ingredients

Rose-Infused Oil

Rose petals have been treasured for generations for their gentle, soothing qualities. Infusing them into a carrier oil captures many of their beneficial plant compounds while creating a beautifully fragrant foundation for natural skincare.

Shea Butter

Shea butter is rich in vitamins A and E and deeply nourishes the skin while helping lock in moisture. It is especially beneficial for dry, mature, or weather-exposed skin.

Beeswax

Beeswax forms a breathable barrier that helps protect the skin and seal in moisture without clogging pores. It also gives the body butter its smooth, luxurious texture.

Rosehip Seed Oil

Rosehip seed oil is packed with essential fatty acids and vitamins that help nourish the skin, support elasticity, and leave it feeling soft and radiant.

Rose Essential Oil

Just a few drops provide a beautiful floral aroma while complementing the skin-loving benefits of the other ingredients.

Rose-Infused Body Butter Recipe

Ingredients

  • ½ cup strained rose-infused oil
  • ½ cup shea butter
  • 2 tablespoons beeswax pellets
  • 2 tablespoons rosehip seed oil
  • 10–15 drops rose essential oil

Directions

  1. Fill a small saucepan with a few inches of water and bring it to a gentle simmer.
  2. Place the rose-infused oil, shea butter, and beeswax into a heat-safe mason jar.
  3. Set the jar into the simmering water to create a simple double boiler.
  4. Stir occasionally until the beeswax and shea butter have completely melted.
  5. Remove the jar from the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  6. Stir in the rosehip seed oil and rose essential oil.
  7. Refrigerate or allow the mixture to cool until it becomes mostly solid but is still soft enough to whip.
  8. Using a hand mixer, whip the mixture for 3–5 minutes until it becomes light and fluffy.
  9. Spoon the finished body butter into clean glass jars with tight-fitting lids.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Since this recipe contains no water, it can typically be stored for 6 to 12 months. Always use clean, dry hands or a cosmetic spatula when removing the body butter from the jar.

A Simple Self-Care Ritual

After bathing or before bedtime, warm a small amount between your hands and massage it into your skin using slow, mindful strokes. Allow the soft scent of rose to remind you to pause, breathe, and care for yourself with the same compassion you offer others.

Final Thoughts

Making your own botanical body butter is a wonderful way to connect with the healing gifts of the garden. Whether you’re using roses you’ve grown yourself or petals you’ve carefully dried, each jar becomes a reminder that simple, natural ingredients can create something truly beautiful.

DIY Rose Eye Cream

There’s something incredibly satisfying about crafting your own skincare—especially when it’s infused with love and ingredients from your garden. I’ve been infusing coconut oil with homegrown roses, and now I’m turning that dreamy base into sweet little 2oz jars of rose eye cream. It’s rich, nourishing, and beautifully fragrant thanks to rose essential oil and skin-loving butters.

Here’s how you can make your own small batch of this luxurious cream at home.

Prior to making your rose eye cream, you will need to harvest clean rose petals from your garden. Making sure there is NO water on the petals, soak them in fractionated coconut oil for at 7-10 days. After that time, the oil will be infused with rose and ready for use.

Ingredients (Per 2oz Jar)

  • 1 tbsp rose-infused coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp shea butter
  • 1 tbsp mango butter
  • 1 tsp rosehip oil
  • 2–3 drops rose essential oil
  • (Optional: 1 drop vitamin E oil for preservation)

Tip: Multiply the ingredients by the number of jars you want to make.

Supplies You’ll Need

  • Heatproof glass bowl or double boiler
  • Mini whisk or hand mixer
  • Measuring spoons
  • Sterilized 2oz glass jars
  • Small spatula or spoon
  • Clean towels

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Melt the Butters
In a double boiler or glass bowl over simmering water, gently melt the shea butter, mango butter, and rose-infused coconut oil. Stir slowly until fully combined. Do not let it boil—gentle heat is key.

2. Add Rosehip and Essential Oils
Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly. Stir in the rosehip oil and optional vitamin E. Pour into a bowl.

3. Whip for a Fluffier Texture (Optional)
If you prefer a whipped texture, place the mixture in the fridge for about 20 minutes until it turns opaque but not solid. Add 3-5 drops of rose essential oil. I also love to add frankincense to anything I make for added benefit. Then whip with a hand mixer for 1–2 minutes until creamy and light.

4. Jar It Up
Spoon your eye cream into sterilized 2oz jars. Wipe the rims, seal tightly, and label with the date and ingredients.

Storage & Shelf Life

Store your eye cream in a cool, dark spot. You can also refrigerate it for a firmer texture and longer shelf life.

Shelf life: ~3–6 months (vitamin E oil can help extend this).
