Clear Quartz Crystal

I love to use this fun little deck of crystal cards at the beginning of the month, or the year, or the season to guide me a bit on where I need to focus.

Just the other day on New Year’s Day, I pulled out my regular oracle cards as well as my crystal cards. I had chosen the word “REFINEMENT” as my focus and intention for this year. You can imagine my happiness when I pulled the Clear Quartz Gemstone card for this year.

This crystal is all about clarity, light, reflection, and amplification. The Clear Quartz crystal healing properties allow anyone connected to the stone to become as clear as their crystal. Ummm…that would be exactly like refinement? Refining that which is already amazing and polishing it off to glisten even brighter! Whether you are manifesting your wildest dreams, making decisions, or simply clearing out your mindset, a Clear Quartz crystal is an essential.

Photosensitive Oils

When I first started using essential oils I had no idea that some oils could cause a burn. Crazy, right?

As we head into warmer months and more outside time, remember that some oils are photosensitive and cause a reaction that is uncomfortable when combined with sunlight.

Be mindful when applying the following if you plan to be in the sun. You can still use them, just apply on the feet or a covered area or take internally (I only ingest pure, certified therapeutic grade oils that I am positive have been tested).

No Shame Oatmeal

I’m not really an oatmeal girl but my body was craving it today. Add in some slivered almonds, unsweetened shaved coconut, fresh blackberries and blueberries, a drop of lemon essential oil and voila! Yumminess in a bowl! 
I used to obsess about eating certain foods especially grains when I changed my way of eating to a more paleo style. However, in my process of listening to myself and my intuition, I have come to realize that my relationship with food shouldn’t be so stressful and really shouldn’t be punishing or shaming.  I learned that it really is okay to eat what my body is craving. Because I eat so clean, I rarely crave anything “bad” like sugar or super carby foods. 

But, today my belly said oatmeal and berries. And that is exactly what it got. And it is okay. 

No Shame Oatmeal: 

  • Steel cut oats cooked as directed
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened shaved coconut 
  • 1/4 slivered almonds 
  • Handful of berries 
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk 
  • Drop of lemon essential oil

Oils & Gemstones

This morning in my meditation it came to me to create a custom essential oil blend for my surgery and recovery. I included heart opening gratitude oils as I prepare to receive the ultimate–someone’s body part who died so I can be pain-free. I also included cleansing oils for my cells and emotionally healing oils. I chose to set the blend with some healing gemstones outside in the shade for some Mother Earth time.

In the blend there is frankincense, basil, birch, ginger, wild orange, immunity blend, lavender and spikenard.  These combined and layered will offer me cellular support, a calm mind and an incredibly grateful and open heart to receive the talented surgeon’s ability, the care of the staff, the prayers that surround me, and mostly the donor’s part.

The gemstones are rose quartz, malachite, citrine, lapis, hematite, obsidian, and quartz crystal. These beauties will assist me with energy that brings healing and contentment as my body endures this.
