Solar Plexus Chakra

Located in the area of the solar plexus, navel, and the digestive system, the fiery third chakra is called Manipura, the “lustrous gem.” Associated with the color yellow, this chakra is involved in self-esteem, warrior energy, and the power of transformation; it also governs digestion and metabolism. A healthy, spirited third chakra supports us in overcoming inertia, jump-starting our “get-up-and-go” attitude so that we can take risks, assert our will, and assume responsibility for our life. This chakra is also the place of our deep belly laughter, warmth, ease, and the vitality we receive from performing selfless service.

The solar plexus chakra is associated with the fire element because fire provides warmth and comfort, but also can cause fear and terror. This chakra spans a wide emotional area. The color associated with the solar plexus chakra is Yellow. Yellow is the symbol of the mind, intellect, high intelligence and wisdom. It is a positive magnetic vibration that acts as an equalizer for irritable conditions of the nervous system. The solar plexus is the organizing brain of the nervous system and as such, is an important power center that should be kept in a perfect equilibrium.

Some signs that the Solar Plexus Chakra is out of balance are:
•Difficulty concentrating
•Poor ability to make decisions or judge a situation accurately
•A feeling that you are more important than other people
•Trouble taking action or getting things done.

Digestive problems, eating disorders, feeling like a victim, or experiencing low self-esteem can all be indications of a deficient third chakra. When you feel disempowered or in need of re-energizing, third chakra poses fan the flames of your inner fire and restore vitality so that you can move from the strength of your core.

Perfectionism, anger, hatred, and too much emphasis on power, status, and recognition reveal an excessive third chakra.

My favorite way to balance my third chakra is with gemstones, essential oils and yoga (Restorative, passive backbends that cool off the belly’s fire act as calming agents for third chakra excess).

I have a free ebook that describes all the chakras. Message me if you’d like it.

Crystals and Essential Oils

A few of my favorite things in the world include the use of essential oils to bring harmony and balance to our energy. For many years I have been mixing essential oils with crystals and the effects are amazing.

Heart Chakra

The fourth chakra, the heart chakra, rests in the center of the chakra system, at the core of our spirit. Its physical location is the heart, upper chest, and upper back. The fourth is the balance point, integrating the world of matter (the lower three chakras) with the world of spirit (the upper three chakras). Through the heart chakra, we open to and connect with harmony and peace. The health of our heart center registers the quality and power of love in our life.

In Sanskrit, the heart chakra is called Anahata, which means “unstruck” or “unhurt.” Its name implies that deep beneath our personal stories of brokenness and the pain in our heart, wholeness, boundless love, and a wellspring of compassion reside.

Being an even-numbered, feminine chakra, the heart center naturally yearns to release and let go. When we feel fearful, there is no room for love, and our bodies show contraction. When we choose love, the fear melts away, and our practice takes on a joyful quality.

Doing backbends develops the trust and surrender we need to open the heart fully. In many backbending poses, the heart is positioned higher than the head. It’s wonderfully refreshing to let the mind drop away from the top position and instead lead with the heart.

Some signs that the heart chakra is overpowering your life can include co-dependency, possessiveness, jealousy, heart disease, and high blood pressure. For these symptoms, forward bends are the best antidote, because they are grounding and foster introspection. While people with deficient heart chakras need to open to receive love more fully, those with excessive heart chakras find healing by slowing down to discover inside themselves the nourishment they have been seeking from others.

Love is our interconnectedness to all. Boundless love for all. This is out Connection to others, self and life.

Air is lightness, breath, freedom. Breathe fully to open the heart chakra.

An open heart chakra facilitates healing on all planes. Helping others, being of service, random acts of kindness are all heart chakra work.

The most powerful way to open, energize, and balance not just the heart chakra but all of our chakras is to love ourselves and others. Give and receive love.

Love truly is the greatest healer.

Root Chakra

Is anyone else feeling a little off? I have had two of the hardest days just this week!

After today, I decided to go back to what I know and know really well and that is my energy centers. I did some self inquiry and discovered that maybe my root chakra is feeling a bit unbalanced. I pulled out my root chakra oil blend and my hematite and found some common ground.

Inside my root chakra blend is black tourmaline chips, cypress, sandalwood, balance, vetiver and cedarwood. I apply this to my legs and feet while bringing in the affirmation—AM.

Tomorrow is a new day. A new chance to be. I know that the tools I have can bring me back to my center and I can regain clarity and a sense of self. If you haven’t checked out my chakra series free ebook, it’s in my link or you can message me.

No matter what is going on, it’s temporary. It always is. And I’m the meantime I have my oils and my crystals and my faith to keep me sane.

Human Touch

Wellness Wednesday!

“To touch is to give life”~ Michelangelo

Did you know there is some significant research looking at the benefits of human touch?

Three Positive Health Manifestations from Touch:

?Inspires positive thinking and expand trust. Known as the “feel good” hormone oxytocin which helps inspire positive thinking and maintaining an optimistic outlook on the world

?Reduces social anxiety and stress

?Boosts immune system and lower blood pressure

I LOVE to touch people–in fact, one of my other “jobs” is to provide touch to those in need.  I love pulling out some oils and rubbing feet or hands.  It truly is one of my favorite things to do.

Additionally, I am also a big believer in massage and other healing touch modalities.  I am a level 1 Healing Touch practitioner and can provide body/energy work.  Balancing chakras through hands is an amazing thing.

I have recently begun to incorporate the Symphony of Cells Protocol into my practice. Symphony of the Cells™ Spinal Technique is a collection of massage protocols formulated to create harmony physically, emotionally and spiritually within the body. Each protocol is specific to a system (ie. digestive, lymphatic) of the body allowing you to target ailments. Receiving oils on the spine is a heavenly experience.
